We’ve been back from a ten day road trip for a little over a week now, and I’ve managed to sort through a few of photos I took.  We covered a lot of ground, starting in Washington, heading over to my parents house in Bend, OR, then to the Lava Beds in California, after that it was on to the Redwoods, and finally back up the coast to Seattle, taking 101 all through Oregon, which was fun (but done much too quickly).  We spent a few nights camping, a few nights quasi-camping (rustic KOA cabins), and a few nights in a hotel.  There’s a lot to say about the trip, but I’m afraid that if I spent the time trying to get it all down, this post would never get done.  So as usual I’ll just let the photos do the talking (though I didn’t capture the trip as I had hoped).  One thing I do want to be sure and say though is that even though I enjoyed everything we saw, and a few places I want to go back to in the near future, if I had to pick one favorite it would have to be the Lava Beds in northern California.  They were just amazing.  The caves were so much fun to explore.  The desert was so beautiful, and I loved that it felt off the beaten path.  Just a really great place for kids and adults alike.  We have plans to return in a couple of years with my sisters when their babies are about Muriel’s age.  I’m holding them to it!  The rest of the photos can be found over on Flickr.
